Vascular Conditions

We have a laser available to treat many vascular conditions.  Many conditions are the
result of abnormal blood vessels.  These include conditions such as port-wine
birthmarks, angiomas, hemangiomas, spider veins on the legs and face.

How does the laser work?

Using a beam of light, the laser “selectively” treats the areas of concern by targeting
and coagulating problem blood vessels while leaving  the surrounding skin unchanged.
Results are seen in three to four weeks.  Typically, one to two treatments are
recommended.  Birthmarks or hemangiomas may require several treatments.

Is the treatment painful?
There is some minor discomfort associated with laser treatment which most patients
describe as the sensation of a series of rubber band snaps to the skin.  The discomfort
is reduced or eliminated by cooling the treated area with an air-cooling device.

A consultation with us will help determine the appropriate treatment
 for your condition.
