RESTYLANE
What is Restylane?
Restylane is a safe and natural dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to
the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.  It is made of a
non-animal-based hyaluronic acid.  Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance
already existing in the human body.  The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is a
crystal-clear gel called NASHATM  or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid.  It
is biodegradable and completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid;
therefore, no pre testing is required.
 
Restylane is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle.  This
produces volume that smoothes the wrinkle or fold shaping the face or enhancing
the lips in a natural way.  The result is immediate.  The method of injection is fast,
safe and leaves no visible traces on the face.  To optimize your comfort during
the procedure, a topical anesthesia is used in the treatment area.
 
How long does Restylane last?
Restylane can last 6-12 months; a duration that is two to three times longer than
collagen.  The unique NASHATM technology helps maintain the effect until the
injected material is nearly gone.  Studies have shown that regular follow-up
treatments enhance duration.  Restylane treatments are typically twice a year.
 
How is Restylane different from Botox?
Restylane is natural filler.  Botox is a drug that blocks nerve transmission
and relaxes the underlying muscles.  Many patients have been very
pleased after receiving treatments with both products.
