Cutera Laser Genesis

What is Laser Genesis therapy?
Laser Genesis skin therapy is an innovative technologically advanced way to promote healthy looking skin in men and women.  It has been scientifically proven to produce new collagen.   It treats conditions that are typically associated with
premature signs of aging and sun damage, such as fine line wrinkles, uneven texture, large pores and excessive redness.  It is used to treat the entire face and
neck with excellent results.  Practitioners may suggest this therapy to diminish recent scars on other parts of the body.

How does Laser Genesis work?

Laser Genesis heats the upper dermis well below the skin’s surface stimulating the regrowth of collagen.  Additional heat is generated in dilated capillaries to reduce redness.

What is diffuse redness?

This condition is caused by dilated capillaries most commonly in the area of the nose, forehead and cheeks.  This causes a general appearance of redness such as rosy cheeks.  It is often associated with a condition called rosacea.

What does Laser Genesis feel like?

You will experience a gentle warming of the skin surface which is relaxing and therapeutic.  The hand piece is moved back and forth about ½ inch from the surface of the skin.

No gel or anesthetic cream is needed prior to treatment.  All make-up or moisturizers will be removed before treatment.  Following treatment, you can return to normal activities immediately.  Sunscreen should be used if participating in outdoor activities.

Possible side effects are few, if any.  The most commonly there could be a slight redness which disappears within a few hours of treatment.

How many treatments are required?

Over the course of four to six treatments, the uneven textures of the skin caused by aging, sun damage or scars will be smoother and appear more youthful.  The complexion will look healthier with a creamy appearance.  Large pores are reduced in size and minor imperfections are diminished.   Each treatment causes a subtle change, but the overall effect of multiple treatments can be quite dramatic.
The treatment results are subtle and cumulative.  An average of four to six treatments is required to achieve optimal results although this varies according to the needs and conditions of each patient.  A consult with the doctor or technician will give you more information about expected results and number of treatments for your personal condition and goals.
